Jury Duty!

I supose it was bound to happen. I have been summoned to Jurry duty. I have never been summoned before. But shortly after I turn 32 I will be checking in daily to see if I must appear in court. I pray It will be an easy couple of months. My official report date is April 1 to June 30 I suppose this also means I wont be able to go on any trips during this time. I also immagine that I will have to be prepared for a sub. in my classroom too.Have any of you been summonsed for jury duty? If so how did it work out for you?

Funny Things Happen in the First Grade.

O.K., so I was looking pretty cute in my favorite white pants. Which are extremely hard to keep white, I might add. When I sat down in my chair. I suddenly realized that my rear end didn't feel quite right. I soon discovered the uncomfortable feeling was a big hole in the seat of my pants. Lets rewind a little. If you know me you will remember that I often spill on my self, brush against paintbrushes or sit in something I shouldn't have. Not to mention that dirt and mud are very fond of me. Needless to say I have had to bleach my white jeans in order to keep them looking nice. Well I am afraid that the bleach caused the material to weaken thus causing the tear. So there I sat wondering what next. I quickly asked one of my students to grab my coat from it's storage place. Then I informed my students why I was so shocked. They all had a good laugh especially when I told them "I think I need to call my mommy so she can bring me another pair of pants." Luckily I have a habit of not taking my things home from school. So I was able to find a pair of black pants in my cheer leading bag. They didn't match but at least they didn't have a hole in them. So remember no matter how bad your day gets you can always count on the kids to find the humor in it.

New Blog Banner

I found this picture and liked it immediately. Then I started to look closer at the picture and thought it is a little morbid after all look at the head stones. Then I read the following poem and I found I liked the picture even more.

I am a Christian

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin'."
I'm whispering "I was lost,
Now I 'm found and forgiven."

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"

I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow!

Finding My Way!

I have always struggled with believing that I was good enough or smart enough and so on and so forth. I have a hunch that my family can attest to this. I also have looked to mankind to reassure me in these areas. I began reading a book called The Poewer of a Praying Woman by Stormie Omartin. In this book I am discovering something I have heard before and have probable told other people. I however have negelected to take my own advice. She reminded me that most women are "guilty of looking to other people to meet them-especially the men in our lives. Too often we expect them to meet the needs that only God can Fill. And then we are disappointed when they can't." I am working on trusting and praying to God to fulfill these needs in me so that I can be confidant in my life and my marriage. I still can't help but wonder when I see couples so happily married is it for real or do they sometimes feel the way that I do.

Snowy Day

Today was a great to relax, stay inside and enjoy life. I was able to get some much needed work done around the house. It was also a great day for stew and home made bread. I think this is what God intended for and we shall rest on the sabbath. Although things were still getting done it was relaxing because there was not time limit put on it. Gee get another one tomorrow. Yippee!
