I had a great day today. I got to spend the day with my two boys. The day began when
I awoke to a clean house. I had spent some long needed time cleaning and organizing it the night before. It is a great feeling being able to walk down the hall across the living room and into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee with out tripping. My only wish is that it would stay this way forever. After coffee, a letter to grandma and laundry I decided to take my boys into town. We dropped some cloths off at the salvation army and headed to Wal-mart. Not my favorite place due to the crowd but they do have everything that you need. It was a pleasant experience no one cried or whined about getting this or that. After our shopping experience we headed to the park for a picnic. We had great conversation during our lunch. Then we decided to go for a walk down the bike trail. We walked for about 3 miles and did the exercise course My oldest son tried hard to do all the exercises the best he could and even said he had fun. We never argued once during this time and I didn't want the time to end. I pray that the Lord will grant more days like this one.

Wedding Bells

My cousin got married on Sept. 1st. So we traveled 10 hrs. north to help her and her new husband celebrate. It was a beautiful service and the bride looked radiant.

It was a joy to see my grandparents all gussied up in their finest duds. Proud as can be of their youngest grand daughter.

The room felt like it froze for just a moment. People stopped, watched, grabbed their cameras and snapped pictures like crazy.

The bride, bless her, tried to control her emotions but they were there, in her eyes, the tears of happiness and love that she has for her grandpa.

I don't remember the song they danced to. Just the joy and energy that filled the room.

The room froze once more, tears were shed and pictures were snapped as he shared a brief dance with his very own beautiful bride. My grandparents have been married for 61 years. They have shared in the good times and the bad and the richer and poorer. They have also battled sicknesses and car accidents. But during all their years their love and union as husband and wife has never wavered. I pray that the Lord will continue to walk with them, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren until we all join him in heaven.
Amen, Amen
Amen, Amen

Public School What a Joy!
Do you remember those impatient moms. You know what I mean. They have their nose every where. Needing to know information before it is even available. Well I have become one of those parents. I never wanted to but perhaps it was in me all along. My oldest son started 6th grade yesterday in our local "Public School" . You see he has been in a Lutheran school for the last 3 years. We Lutheran teachers make sure our families are well informed. I have come to expect this. Not this year. I never got to even meet his teachers until after school the first day. I went to register him on their new student registration night. I figured I would at least get a school lunch menu and a schedule but nothing. So yesterday afternoon I the pushy mom that I am. I walked back to each teacher and introduced myself. I also barged into the office asking for information on the lunch program etc. Well now that I have it I found out that the principal will be explaining everything to the students today and they will be bringing home the information tonight. So now I feel a little sheepish. Perhaps I should have been a little more patient. Next year I will know what to expect and it wont be so scary....For me.
By the way my son had a fabulous day and loved every minute of it. He even signed up for band.

Two year old frenzy!
Monday night around 10:00 I received a phone call from DSS. They had a little two year old boy that was found wandering the highway. They needed a safe place for him to stay until they found out who he belonged to. So we opened our home to him. He was a large two year old. We didn't know his name until midday on Tuesday. He arrived at 2am sound asleep. When he woke he was timid but excited to play with Rosco who was happy to fetch the ball that was being chucked across the room. We soon discovered that he could say a few words and loved to run. He ran every where he went. Needless to say I am tired. He went back home this morning. I am glad to see him return to his grandma who loves him and I pray he will not wander off again.
