ORLC Christmas Cantata

Tim and I have become members of the choir at our new church Our Redeemers Lutheran Church and each year they preforma a Christmas Cantata. This year it was called

I Hear a Prophet Callin.

Here is a duet that I sang in the cantata.

This is a solo that I preformed.

It takes a while for me to upload the videos so if I am able I will post another video later this week. By the way Ansir was the camera man. He did a great job.

Happy Birthday Alex

This weekend our niece turned 8 years old an we had a delightful birthday celebration for her.

There were balloons, snacks and punch for her guests to dine on!

There was a pinata for the kids but it was not the kind that you hit with a stick. Rather the kids each took turns pulling a string until it riped open.

This was the most exciting part of the evening. Before grandma and grandpa could get their coats off the kids were begging to pull the strings.
There was plenty of candy for everyone.

Projects Already?

I know we just moved in and already we have started a project. We are hoping to finish this project before Ansir is conformed in June.

This is the pourch outside the front door of our house. We decieded to take it out and replace it with a nice brick patio. Tim has been working hard to dismantel the old pourch and clear away the grass in the shape we hope the patio will take shape in.

Look at how hard working he is. Doesn't he look so tired! Some one should bake him some cookies for all his hard work.

Cute pictures of our pets

Lok at how pretty our little dog is. Rosco is always so excited to see us when we get home. But he is even more excited to go with Tim in the truck becasue he knows there are rabbtits to be chased.

Misty thinks that this pumpkin was made just for her. She loves to crawl in side and hide.

Here she is looking so innocent. What yiou can't see is that after I snaped the picture she attacked Rosco.

Here is our precious dog chewing on his bone.

Now the cat is attaking the bone. I wonder what that bone ever did to her?

They often play tug-o-war with the stuffed toys.

Here is a little video that shows how well the cat and dog play to gether! I hope you enjoy!

Haloween

Ansir dressed up like a vampire this year. I think he makes a pretty scarryone if you ask me. Last year he decieded to hand out candy but we did not have any trick or treaters. This year he and his friends went out around Alamo.

This is the before picture of the scarry trick or treaters.
And here they are enjoying their spoils! Don't they look excited!

Ansir and His Friends

Ansir definetly stays busy when we are at home. His friends make frequent appearenes at our house.

Here the boys are making boomerangs out of paint sturing sticks. Believe it or not this is a History project. They have also designed their own dyanasty one day and created a map showing what their land looked like.

Here is a wild game of twister.

The boys were laughing as they attempted to twist their bodies into the positions needed to reach the spots.

I am very glad that they have a good time when they play at our house.

Reading to 100

I have been working really hard to read 100 books by the end of December. I am only five away from reaching the halfway point. So I am going to revise my personal goal and strive to read 75 books by the end of December. I would also like to note that most of my books are not kids books as I do not have a small child at home so I feel that I have done a fairly good job at attempting to reach my goal. I am currently working my way thouh Emma by Jain Austin. I just started chapter ten. Even if I do not reach my goal I have had the opprotunity to take many adventures that I would not have otherwise taken. Most of them set in the 1800's my favorite time pieriod. I would like to encourage each of you to make personal reading goal and see where the pages of your books take you!

New Adventures

When we moved we decieded that we would not be hooking up the TV or any of the game systems at least untill after Christmas. So far the results have been great. We spent saturday night playing jenga (actually it was a cheap knock off) but we played non the less and had a fun time doing it.

On sunday Ansir decieded to buy a new bionical. So he sat at the table for a while putting it together. Then an amazing thing happened.

Tim sat down with him and helped him put on the final touches. Oh yes we have also had a nerf dart gun war in the house as well.

Ansir has also found two friends in town that are 12 and 13 years old. They dug into the legos that Ansir has and decided to actually play and pretend. I was flabbergasted. Tears sprung to my eyes! No one has sat for several hours a day only movin thier thumbs.

And of course not to leave Rosco out. He spends his time looking out the picture window searching for rabbits. Who knew a window could be so entertaining. And yes the red bench was a special purchace just for the dog! Isn't he spoiled!

Meet Misty

Hi my name is Misty. Yesterday I was adopted by my new family! They came and picked me up after church then we went to the store to buy lots of goodies for me. I have already overtaken the nice soft bed that was at the house. I think it smells like dog though!

So far my favorite person in the house is Tim. I will follow him everywhere. I heard a rumor that he doesnt like cat's but I have spent lots of time on his lap so far! And he pets me so he must love me right?

I am playing with Ansir in this picture. He likes to watch me chase my ball around the house. He also let me sleep with him last night. I hope I wasn't to loud for him. I wanted to play but the house was asleep so I started to cry! He was so nice he woke up and gave me some pats so that I would curl up in bed again.

I am not sure about this dog. He kept jumping at me like I was some play toy. But by the end of the night I was able to lay in his bed with him and he even shared his leftover milk with me from Tim's cereal this moring. I just know that before long we will be life long friends.

WOW that was alot of excitement for one day! Now I am so very sleepy! I am glad to be in a nice warm house on this cold, cold day.

The inside of our new home

This weekend we were able to take both of our parents to our new house so that they could see the inside. Here are some of the pictures. Please forgive the mess as the former owners are still cleaning it out. in fact some of the stuff will most likely be staying and we will be sorting through it as we clean etc.

Here is the laundry room it is on the main floor and just off from the kitchen and the back door.

Tim is excited about the bathroom because it is much larger than the one in our current living situation.

This is the master bedroom. It is fairly large. There is another approximately the same size but with less closet space. Then the third bedroom is a little smaller.

Here is the living room from two directions. I think mom said it was 22x18? But don't quote me.

It even has lovely brown shag carpet!

My favorite part is the kitchen. It feels huge after having such a small one in our current house.

There is a lot more counter space and storage space.

This is one of the rooms down stairs. As you can see there is a lot of things to sort and go through so that this room will be usable.

This is also down stairs and this freezer stays with the house. Score!!!!

Here is a picture of the stair way leading up stairs to the main living quarters.
We are very excited and are counting the days until the papers are officially signed and we can move in. I believe we are at 2 weeks and 3 days! Remember our house is always open to visitors. So don't be strangers.

1st Place in The Local Bee

Here is Ansir this morning before the Bible Bee!

He looks so handsome.

He started with an hour long test that had 200 questions on it and 16 questions in the oral exam.

My darling son came away with first place over all for the local competition. He placed first in the written test second for the oral test to have them combined for the over all top score.

We are eagerly awaiting the national results to see if he qualifies for the national competition in November. That competition will be in Washington, DC. We should find out some time this week.

Our New Home

Today our family traveled to Minot to talk with the owners of a house in Alamo, ND. We have come to an agreement and once the papers are drawn up we will be the owners of this home. We are set to move in Oct. 1st. We are very excited.

Here are a few pictures of the outside of the house from different angels. The windows on the end of the house (west side of the house) are for two of the bedrooms. There are three bedrooms on the main floor.

There is a small deck out side of this entrance (the north side of the house) and as you can see the basement has the larger windows. There are two bedrooms down there and a great room.

This is the back part of the house (east) where the main entrance is. There is a little room where you can see Tim stepping down from the sitars it is like a mud room.

Here is a picture of the south side of the house it also has a small porch. There is no garage or shed but we figure over time we will be able to build one.

We happened to run into the son of the owners of the house while we were taking pictures today and he was busy combining. I took this picture. I thought it was a great action shot!

We praise God that he has given us this opportunity to buy this house an can't wait to have company in a house where we actually have room to enjoy each other. I will update again with inside pictures next week. Mom and dad get to come and see it next Saturday. I can hardly wait. I will also give an update when the official paper work is signed and money has exchanged hands.
